I specialize in supporting men of all ages, as well as parents, in navigating life’s challenges. Currently, I serve as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician with the Ministry of Children and Family Development in North Vancouver on a part-time basis. As a result, my private practice is focused on working with adults over the age of 18 who reside on the North Shore, or with families living in other areas.
If you’re reading this, it’s likely that acknowledging a problem and seeking help has never been easy for you. You may have learned early in life that vulnerability was met with punishment, and that strength meant keeping your struggles to yourself. While this mindset may have served you in the past, it’s no longer working, especially as recurring issues in your relationships are prompting you to seek change. If you’re a parent, your desire for something better for your children might be driving your search for a new approach. You’re not broken or defective; you’re simply reflecting what you were taught. You are intelligent, thoughtful, and committed to improving yourself. With the right guidance, you can adapt once again—and I’m here to help.
In addition to my professional role, I am a son, brother, husband, and father. Before entering the counselling field, I spent 12 years working primarily with young men as a probation officer and five years supporting adults in a residential drug and alcohol recovery program. These experiences have taught me to harness my clients’ existing strengths and motivation, using evidence-based strategies to help them break free from long-standing habits. If you’ve tried to solve your challenges on your own or with the help of those around you, but feel ready for a new approach and are willing to put in the hard work, I invite you to get in touch. Together, we can develop a plan that works for you.
